Surrenden Lakes
This lake is affectionately known as the Top Lake. It is split into 2 sections. The section nearest the car park is a general fishing lake where you can get lots of bites, Ideal for the novice angler. There are a multitude of species in this lake including Carp, Chub, Ide, Rudd, Roach, Perch and the infamous Gudgeon.
The rear section is very similar but slightly more difficult but it does have larger fish and a fantastic head of Tench. There are also a small number of Koi Carp in here which are absolutely stunning and great to catch.

This is our largest lake at about 7 acres. It is a mixed lake but our priority for this lake is Carp. We have introduced quite a few fish from one of the country’s premier fish farms. For the Carp angler, the fish in here go to about 26lb but they are growing. There is also a wide variety of quality silver fish so if that’s your thing then this is a great lake for you too. Fishing on here is not as easy as it is on Moorhen so don’t expect as many bites.

This is our competition lake. It is sticked primarily with F1 hybrid Carp, Commons and Mirrors. There are a small number of silver fish in here which were not stocked. Since it’s redevelopment in 2023 it has become one of the best match fishing venues in the entire South East. We have a regular match programme and also our members regularly set up their own “knock-ups”. We also have other Clubs and Societies who rent this lake so that they can enjoy this amazing lake.
This lake was designed and built based on a request from our then Chairperson Sheila. A “non-angler”, she simply wanted us to create a lake that would be fun for the kids. Guess what, the lake name, Jay, or maybe just “J”, which stands for Junior. In here you will find pretty much every species you can think of ranging from Chub to Barbel to F1 Hybrid Carp to Koi Carp to Common Carp to Mirror Carp to Perch to Rudd. The list goes on and on. There are no massive fish in here so that our juniors can fish in safety knowing that they won’t get dragged in. However, just a little secret for you, there are amazing Perch in this lake with a couple of specimens that are over 4lb.
This is a lake that we are particularly proud of. It is our smallest lake with only 6 pegs but it contains something really special, true British Crucian Carp. We are part of the Crucian Preservation Project in partnership with the Angling Trust and the Environment Agency where we ensure that this lake has no other Carp species to ensure that the Crucian bloodline is maintained for the future. They share the lake with some amazing Tench, Golden Tench, Ide and Golden Orfe. A truly special little lake for those of you who love a more traditional “Estate” type angling experience.
